On "(A)RT," Silk Fence, the new trio featuring Arian Shafiee (Guerilla Toss), Booker Stardrum (SML), and Justin Frye (PC Worship), anchors double bass and tape loops to a propulsive, jittery rhythm section that cuts straight through a fog of electro-acoustic interference. What emerges is a paranoid, half-human blob of sound waves stretching its own skin to capacity, leaving you unsure whether this growing entity is leaning toward good or evil.
