@- Autosmile

On their adventurous new album Autosmile, the eccentric duo @ operate with the thrilling, reckless freedom of an act totally off the leash. Across labyrinthine vocal layerings, unexpected rhythmic shifts, and off-kilter sounds—from backward-sounding melodies to literal monkey squawks—the pair subverts pop conventions without devolving into weirdness for weirdness's sake. It is a wildly charismatic and clever listen, proving that when a band disavows limits, pure strange magic usually follows.
