In an era when tech-nerd CEOs and their supercomputer data centers scheme to strip-mine creativity itself, a defiant band of human artists, designers of beloved album sleeves, tour posters, and merch, still wield pen, ink, and soul against the algorithmic tide. This year’s eagerly awaited New Commute roll call (necessarily abbreviated, so vast is the tribe) summons these steadfast individualists to inscribe 2025’s best records in images that radiate unmistakable mortal spirit and not a hint of prompt-engineered “art.”
