Motocrossed’s self-titled debut, a sprawling concoction from the Charlotte seven-piece, weaves theremin, singing saw, and glockenspiel into an Elephant 6-inspired tangle of gnarled folk and pickled shoegaze, with the 10-minute “Possum Dog” erupting into floor-shaking grandiosity. Its heart-shaped doily cover, depicting a figure spooning a 2-stroke dirtbike, mirrors the album’s tender yet bone-deep crooning, collapsing into a brushfire of knotted strangeness.
