One year after the delicate unraveling of Asheville folk experimentalists Sham’s wonderful album Machine Simple, Machine Sample emerges as a companion piece, stitching together three new visions of its DNA. Andy Loebs and Avey Tare remix "Day Yawns" and "Self Portrait" with meticulous warmth, while "Wilted Dog," a collage of dulcimer and guitar fragments, reassembles a wintry jam session into something hauntingly alive.
