Stephanie Payne has worked under the guise of Dark Arts since the early 80s surviving for several decades with a rotating accessory cast falling in and out of her Columbus, Ohio based darkwave project. The late 80s found the group recording with Steve Albini and opening for like-sounding Cocteau Twins. Mimicking the fluidity of outsider music in the 90s, the band’s sound slid between Echo & The Bunnymen style goth rock and hard and dark gauntlet neofolk. Reflections In A Rear View Mirror is a collection of tracks from the band’s storied past and hopeful future assembled by the magnificent folks STROOM.tv.
