Continuing to act a conduit to share rare traditional ballads from an antiquated era of folk music, Jake Xerxes Fussell’s new single “The River St. Johns” is an old fishmonger’s tune describing the gilded-skinned yield of a hard day’s work. Fussell’s work to salvage the songs of a dying generation of Southern folk songwriters from obscurity is presented in his third full length record, Out of Sight, out June 7th via Paradise of Bachelors that introduces a full-band arrangement of Nathan Bowles, Casey Toll, Nathan Golub, Libby Rodenbough, and James Anthony Wallace.
