The small town in Far West Texas stewarded a weekend's worth of art, music, and creative revival with Marfa Myths. The festival, birthed by Ballroom Marfa and Mexican Summer, brings a deep lineup from Brooklyn label's eclectic roster every year. This year's programming included performances by legendary artists like Wire, Terry Alllen, Suzanne Ciani, Tom Zé and ambient pioneer Laraaji, Mexican Summer newcomers Jessica Pratt and Drugdealer, a live score for the new surf film Self Discovery for Social Survival by Allah-Las, and a variety of other shows and art installations. Continuing the Myths tradition, the festival invited two artists, Cate Le Bon and Deerhunter's Bradford Cox, as residency musicians spending the week housed in the Marfa recording studio collaborating on an EP that will inevitably become Myths 004
